upcoming events

we are hosting a series of virtual open days in autumn 2020.

at our virtual open day you’ll be able to attend subject presentations, take part in live chats with subject tutors, current students and staff representing all the university service areas. when you book a place you’ll receive the latest updates about the events, the full programme and joining instructions.

grouped by faculties, the events will take place on the following days:

  • friday 11 december – if your heart belongs to health, psychology, education or you have a hunger for nutrition then join us.
  • friday 11 december – courses for manchester school of art (msoa), school of digital arts (soda) and manchester school of theatre take centre stage
  • saturday 12 december – discover the world of opportunity you’ll be presented with by studying business or law.
  • thursday 17 december – explore all things humanities, languages or social sciences.
  • thursday 17 december – unleash your passion for fashion.
  • friday 18 december – if you enjoy science, engineering or anything sports-related then this is the day for you.

our live virtual events will include all the following activities:

  • over 80 subject presentations representing all our 200 undergraduate course options
  • over 30 subject areas packed with videos, downloadable resources, case studies and links
  • a schedule of live chats for all our subjects with teaching staff
  • student life fair covering everything from how to apply, student life, student living, careers to student support and overseas study and exchange options
  • live student life fair chats so you can ask anything you need to know about the university services we offer
  • live chats with our current students about student life and insight into what it is like to study at manchester metropolitan university
  • take a virtual tour with some of our current students to get a feel for the campus

what to expect at an open day

get a feel for life on campus. hear about the courses that are right for you and experience courses through talks, demos and taster lectures. meet the staff, talk to students. take a tour of our campus and accommodation.
open days are well worth coming to. they give you a real insight into the university as a whole and the resources that’ll be there for you if you apply. my top tip would be to see which talks you want to attend for specific subjects and build your day around that. or see if you can talk to a student or lecturer at one of the subject stands.
