Taxidermy in Florence, South Carolina
Bubba's Outdoors and Taxidermy Services
Bubba's Outdoors and Taxidermy Services hasn't been
at this location in over two years yet some websites still link to this
page. After consistent Errors of 404's the logs reveal that traffic from
various Outdoors and Taxidermy link farms are still coming.
As a result, I hope you find the following Taxidermy
information and links helpful.
Definitions of Taxidermy
Taxidermy: The art of stuffing animal skins in that they have a lifelike
appearance. Taxidermy from Wikipedia: The art of mounting or reproducing animals
for display or study.
This is a practice generally done with vertebrates, but occasionally
with other less-developed species.
Bubba went hunting last week. His son caught his
first fish. Bubba, himself, shot an 8 point buck. He has plans to have
the fish mounted as well as the deer head. He will be needing the
services of a taxidermist in his area. A
friend of ours, Elaine Madeitup, was shocked and saddened to hear that
her longtime friend, Spot, had an inoperable brain tumor. When Spot
passed away, she sought the services of a taxidermist who specialized
in domestic animals so she could have her friend memorialized.
Examples of Taxidermy & Tips to insure a great
experience!
Out of respect for the owners
of the domestic animals, please do not copy and use any domestic animal
image. All other images may be used provided a link comes back to this

Domestic:
This beautiful and vibrant dog was a long time family friend of a lovely
couple who needed taxidermy services when their canine friend suffered
death due to a brain tumor. In real
life, his name is Bear. In real life,
the couple who wanted the work done were grieving such a huge loss at
Bear's passing, that only a realistic and artfully designed rendition of
extreme likeness would have sufficed. This is the result of that rendition. The couple was extremely pleased and Bear will be memorialized for
eternity as the spirited and vivacious dog that he was.
Has your taxidermist done domestics
before? Ask!
Fish: This
is the original fish mounted on a piece of driftwood. I don't know what kind it is
and I am sure I knew at one time. Trophy
fish being mounted is a popular item in taxidermy. What many people may
not know about marine taxidermy is that sometimes the original fish
is not used. Sometimes the taxidermist buys a cast to size and paints it to reflect the
spirit of the original fish or a will purchase a replica.
Replica or Real?
Make sure to ask the taxidermist first!

Scenes: This is the stuffed duck
that never stopped. First he was stuffed and positioned in a descent.
Then, the taxidermist seemed unable to stop himself as he envisioned a
scene for this duck to be placed in.
The scene consisted of two by fours, plaster, fake cattails, spray
paint, real wood, and driftwood. Indeed, it turned into a remarkable
piece of scenery. The only thing fake
about this image is that after the photo was taken I added the "clouds"
in the background to serve as an ambiance of flight rather than the
stark white wall that was formerly apparent.
So if scenes are your thing, ask your taxidermist!
